Job Overview:

As an Application Developer, you will be responsible for analyzing and designing program logic to address changes in existing programs, developing new programs, and resolving program malfunctions. Your role involves preparing detailed technical specifications, design documents, and programming. Additionally, you will test and debug programs, participate in systems unit tests, and create or update procedural documentation. You will also be responsible for the implementation of programs. This role requires a top technical contributor who ensures the timely completion of projects, break-fixes, and adherence to service-level agreements.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Maintains and alters existing application programs
  • Designs and writes new programs of moderate to high complexity and scope, working with applications systems designs and specifications utilizing standard procedures and techniques
  • Prepares programs requiring a wide variety and extensive number of internal processing actions
  • Develops analysis and design of systems and programs
  • Produces, tests, and documents program code
  • Analyzes source and content of data
  • Verifies coded logic by testing and correcting programs via unit tests
  • Integrates individual programs into existing job streams
  • Produces technical specifications from functional specification documents to include detailed flowcharts to show processing logic for programs
  • Assures compliance with defined internal standards and IT General Controls
  • Collaborates with core corporate business functions, including but not limited to Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, and Finance
  • Assists with order fulfillment for our online businesses, including Order Processing, Customer Service, Billing, Item Assortments, and partner inventory feeds
  • Supports DC Bypass, including Order Processing, Vendor Order Management, logistics partner integration, and Billing

 Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of IBM i ERP systems and development tools, primarily RPG and SQL.
  • Knowledge of SDLC processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the Office 365 suite or similar.
  • Demonstrates analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable when dealing with change and work as part of a team


 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, management information systems, related technical field, or relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of Software Development required – RPG and SQL.
