Job Overview:

As the Director of Vendor Management for Global Product Compliance & Procurement you will be responsible for the Product Safety and Quality Control relationship between PCHI and key third parties.  In this core role, the Director plays a critical role in communicating key performance indicators regarding product safety and compliance to Vendors. The PQSC team partners with Vendors and internal Stakeholders across the enterprise to maximize product benefit and minimize business risk while ensuring a positive Consumer Experience. In addition to PSQC Vendor Management, you will be responsible for organizing and overseeing the efforts in Purchasing with various Vendors. You will be managing a purchasing team inclusive of internal & external Outsourcing team members, gathering purchase requests, identifying the company's requirements, and setting goals and objectives.

This role reports to the Vice President of Global Product Compliance & Procurement.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Establish and manage Vendor Owned Quality Control
  • Fosters an environment of Vendor accountability related product safety and quality control
  • Train Vendors on PSQC polices
  • Supports Vendor Quarterly Business Reviews
  • Evaluate and measure Vendor performance
  • Leads Factory audit process and compliance
  • Coordinate with Vendors and Internal stakeholder for Factory Audits
  • Assess Vendor risk related to factories
  • Manages Vendor issues and provide feedback as a key part of Vendor governance
  • Vendor Score Card for product safety and quality control
  • Owns the Vendor PSQC scorecard
  • Collaborates with Vendors to create new value regarding product compliance
  • Consumer Incidents
  • Coordinates with cross functional teams and Vendors regarding Consumer Incidents
  • Understands root cause analysis to ensure proper course of correction is taken to mitigate risk
  • Reevaluates processes based upon business learnings
  • Lead and be accountable for Outsourcing Services
  • Owns Testing Lab partnership
  • Owns Outsource for Procurement
  • Review and Manage the Procurement Vendor Portfolio via GEP Smart
  • Identify Vendor base for projects and lead negotiations.
  • Identify and track project performance (Cost Reduction/ Avoidance/ Capex).
  • Owns GEP Smart Procurement Tool
  • Train new employees in the purchasing processes and system.
  • Additional projects and tasks as requested

 Skills Required:

  • Vendor risk assessment: Define processes for assessing Vendor risk is a key part of vendor governance.
  • Assessments to identify minor, major, and critical risk for vendors.
  • Risk Management: Monitor and ensure successful delivery against third party contractual obligations regarding product safety and compliance.
  • Problem Solving & Strategy Advice: Provide problem-solving and innovative ideas to support internal Stakeholders for Procurement.
  • Identify value-generating opportunities (Cost reduction, Avoidance, Capex).
  • Negotiation: Negotiate contracts for a broad range of services for PCHI
  • Maintain awareness of the external marketplace as it relates to your suppliers and perform sourcing activities where appropriate.
  • Relationship Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for PSQC third parties and manage an effective governance and communication.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal groups to ensure third party relationships are compliant with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Serve as a people manager, coach and mentor to develop team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make business decisions.

 
 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in Procurement, Supplier Management or Relationship Management
  • 5+ years of experience in Risk Management and Operations Management
  • Ability to independently work and influence outcomes with Sr. Level Leadership
  • Ability to influence outcomes through Service provider performance
